Last year we averaged 228 bundles of material sent through our transport network per month 👊. At the start of 2020 we switched from heat sealing bundles, to an automatic wrapping machine. Today we’ve weighed the plastic usage in both mediums, for a typical bundle.

Average 228 bundles p/m = Approximately 2736 bundles per year.

Old plastic = 523g average
New plastic = 238g average

This is around 800 kilos less plastic usage per year. It’s not a celebration as we’re still using plastic, but it’s a step in the right direction at least.
