About the AND10136 series
AND10136 is an Army-Navy (AN) drawing standard covering extruded aluminium tee sections for aircraft structures. Each dash number defines a specific cross-section size, and the shape is commonly supplied in 2024, 6061 and 7075 aluminium alloys in tempered or annealed (O) condition.
Choosing an alloy for AND10136-1603
2024 is a high-strength aluminium-copper alloy with excellent fatigue resistance, widely used for fuselage stringers, frames and wing structure, usually supplied as 2024-T3511. 7075 is one of the strongest aluminium alloys, used for highly stressed structural parts; 7075-T73511 offers improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking. 6061 combines good strength with excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, making it a common choice for secondary structure and interiors. Read more in our 2024, 7075 and 6061 guides.
